Vendors

Manage third-party carriers and service providers — assign drivers, configure integrations, and relay orders to partner logistics platforms.

Vendors

Vendors are third-party carriers or service providers in your logistics network. Unlike internal drivers and vehicles, a vendor represents an external company that provides their own drivers and fleet. Orders can be assigned to a vendor, who then dispatches using their own resources.

Vendor vs. Contact

Contacts represent individuals (customers, suppliers). Vendors represent companies that provide logistics services — they can have their own driver pools and fleet, and can be integrated with external APIs.

Creating a Vendor

Navigate to Fleet-Ops → Resources → Vendors.

Click + New Vendor.

Enter the vendor name, contact details, and type.

Link a Place for the vendor's headquarters or dispatch hub.

Click Save.

Assigning Drivers and Fleets to a Vendor

External carriers can have their own drivers and vehicles registered in Fleet-Ops:

  1. Open the vendor record
  2. Navigate to the Drivers tab → click Add Driver
  3. Navigate to the Fleets tab → click Add Fleet

Vendor-assigned drivers and vehicles are included in Orchestrator runs when the vendor's fleet is selected.

Integrated Vendors

For external logistics platforms (like Lalamove) connected via their API, Fleet-Ops uses a separate model called IntegratedVendor with its own framework for adding new providers. See Integrated Vendors for the dedicated guide.

Using Vendors as Order Facilitators

When creating an order, you can assign a vendor as the Facilitator — the entity responsible for executing the delivery. The facilitator role is separate from the driver assignment: the vendor is the company, the driver is the individual executing the job.

This is useful for:

  • Third-party carrier orders where the vendor dispatches internally
  • Integrated vendor orders relayed to a partner platform
  • Sub-contracting specific order types to specialist carriers

Sub-Organizations

If your Fleetbase instance is part of a multi-tenant setup, a vendor can be linked to another Fleetbase organization via the connect_company_uuid field. This enables cross-organization order relay and tracking.

  • Integrated Vendors — connect external logistics platforms (Lalamove, etc.) and add your own provider via the framework
