Scheduler Overview
The Scheduler provides a fleet-wide calendar view of driver shifts, order assignments, and availability windows.
Scheduler Overview
The Scheduler is a calendar-based planning tool that gives operators a fleet-wide view of driver shifts, scheduled orders, and availability windows. Use it to plan which drivers are working on which days, visualize how orders are distributed across your fleet, and manage shift patterns.

What the Scheduler Shows
The Scheduler has two main views:
Fleet View
A weekly calendar with one row per driver, showing:
- Shift blocks — the hours each driver is scheduled to work
- Scheduled orders — orders assigned to each driver on each day
- Availability windows — the driver's active time window within their shift
Driver View
A detailed single-driver timeline showing:
- Daily shift schedule
- Individual orders assigned for each shift
- Break periods
- HOS (Hours of Service) status
Opening the Scheduler
Navigate to Fleet-Ops → Operations → Scheduler. The scheduler opens in the current week by default. Use the date controls to navigate forward or backward.
Driver Shift Schedules
Each driver in Fleet-Ops has a shift schedule — a set of recurring patterns that define when they are available to work. Shifts are managed in the driver record or in bulk from the Scheduler.
A shift schedule entry (ScheduleItem) defines:
- Day of week — which days the shift applies
- Start time — when the driver's shift begins
- End time — when the driver's shift ends
- Break duration — scheduled break within the shift
- Recurrence — daily, weekly, or specific dates
The Orchestrator uses shift schedules as time window constraints — it will only assign orders that can be completed within a driver's shift window.
See Driver Shift Schedules for details.
Scheduled Orders in the Calendar
Orders with a Scheduled At date appear in the Scheduler on their scheduled day, in the row of their assigned driver. Each order card shows:
- Order ID and customer
- Pickup and dropoff addresses
- Status badge
Click an order card to open the full order detail. Drag an order card to a different driver row to reassign, or to a different day to reschedule.
See Order Scheduling for details on scheduling individual orders.
HOS (Hours of Service) Compliance
For regulated transport operations, the Scheduler includes HOS status tracking. Fleet-Ops monitors driver working hours and flags:
- Drivers approaching their daily driving limit
- Drivers who have exceeded their weekly hours
- Required rest periods
HOS rules are configured in Fleet-Ops → Settings → Scheduling.
Relationship to the Orchestrator
The Scheduler and Orchestrator work together:
- Define driver shifts in the Scheduler
- Run the Orchestrator — it respects shift windows when assigning orders
- Review the resulting assignments in the Scheduler calendar
- Adjust any conflicts or over-allocations visually
The Scheduler is the human-readable planning surface; the Orchestrator is the multi-phase planner that produces the assignments.
